My influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience. Although I don't set out to produce art about one subject or another, my creative process involves a reflection over the intricate relationship between the objective external world and the experiential inner world. It is an attempt to understand how material reality can be internalized and how a reality that is initially completley subjective can gradually be constituted as external. I don't seek to put my experiences into my works, but marvel at how they emerge.

The repetitive nature of my work frees my imagination and provides many opportunities for accidents and grace to influence the finished product. During research and production, new areas of interest arise and lead to the next body of work. I am particularly interested in the sensual and minimalist approach of porcelain. I enjoy working with porcelain clay for its ability to hold intimate details in a state of fragile permanence. The pure whiteness of the material that hardens during heating process achieves an eternal value.
